Finally reading because of a book club. The timing couldn’t be more perfect since I’ve been debating what to do for my MBA & I have an advisor appt tomorrow. my previous disinterest in international business is gone and I’m intrigued by the amount of information (and evidence of missing data) at the international level. I’m also interested in data mining which I previously hadn’t thought much about.

Still hate narration, but has provoked a lot of self reflection

Wow this narration is so bad.

Trying to be a romance novel but you never get to know the other characters well enough to feel a connection

“Morning came at me like a mugging”, “the kind of light you only saw in toothpaste ads”, “like a toothache in my frontal lobe “… and that’s just in a couple paragraphs

Very dramatic writing. The number of analogies is excessive and often overdone - I would have loved it when I was 20 but now the drama feels overdone

Crying within 5 minutes. Probably going to like this one.
