I'm already halfway in and I don't like it, too tame and boring. Can someone tell me if it picks up in the second half?

I'm so not invested in the characters. I just wanna know what the plot is about but it's so slow....

Finally a books that breaking my reading slump... Until I got to some dialogues and they just don't feel realistic? Or maybe I'm not American enough to relate to this style of conversation... Idk

Halfway in and the plot is definitely not the same. Where's my immortal pimp on an epic quest to avenge his girls that was like a found family to him? Instead it's a filthy rich man who owns an entire city that wants revenge for his son. which he can get cuz he's rich. where are my desperation of the lower class, of the undocumented, the thrills, the tragedy of pure love that couldnt survive in a corrupt world?

Aside from the setting, the plot is very different from the TV show Gangnam B-sides, which was inspired from this book. The characters are completely different as well, unless the ones I know aren't introduced yet (Hoping Yoon Gilho is in it!).
What I dislike though is that it seems to deviate from the message that was conveyed in the show but it's too early to decide that.

Cool so far. The romance doesn't seem to be my taste, though. They were cute but they confuse finding someone pretty with falling in love. Where is my emotional connection? Also don't like this very obvious predating phase where they refuse to acknowledge their growing feelings (what made them fall for eo? it's only been a day) but they already feel entitled to eo's secrets and everyone around them ships them. ugh

I didn't want to add more books to my already huge tbr, I blame the covers for this adding spree...

(also someone tell me why is it always short stories that have the prettiest covers out there?)
