If I would have bought the hardback copy, it's weight would have crushed a man.

Found some typos (2) and formatting issues. I'm still waiting for the intrigue to start on the overall plot. It's been vaguely hinted at in about the last 5% but not enough to intrigue.

I love the shift of PoV from Darzo to Kylar. One used to be a little more dominant in the beginning and have more 'spotlight' then it shifted. Best part so far? The reveal of who Darzo was all those years ago. Great writing.

Progress nicely and has many subplots, as expected from a high fantasy setting. Nothing quite making me skim at this point.

Nice engaging characters. Some of the flow is like seeing a movie with mutliple PoVs but this is par for the course for fantasy settings.

This book was slow in the beginning and picked up pace toward the end. had Ms. Harrison made the MC Rachel go into her pity party phase instead of actually growing a pair, I might have decided I had enough of this series. As it is, I feel like Harrison is running out of ideas of were this series should go. No real standing antagonist exists. Disappointing.

Interesting character introduction but the plot, for the paced action, is still dragging.

The pace is moving fine and a lot is happening. Unfortunately, I think the plot is a little thin and Harrison's trying to drag it out to make the novel word count.
