IMO Daniel Abraham has more talent and depth than some of the other new fantasy writers that get promoted so heavily.

I almost gave part one five stars except for a few fuzzy plot details. Part two is much better all around so it's heading for the end zone so far.

This is quite original and intricate. I'm hooked.

The writing quality is superior even to book 1. I like McMurtry better even than London, Steinbeck, or Twain.

Much stronger and better written than the predecessor, "Tortured for Christ". The personal accounts are very moving. Amazing book all around!

Some useful ideas here for sure, although thrown together in a hodge podge fashion by multiple authors.

I am finding the book to be quite better than the movie. Very realistic, as if the author was there.

I borrowed this and promised it back by October so I better get going in case it's long and boring. So far I find it witty and well-written so I may be done sooner.

Bank's whole Culture concept has me hooked but but this first book took a turn toward absurdity with The Eaters. I will still give books 2 and 3 a chance.

Kraiklyn is not too bright to risk the ship and crew repeatedly for small gains. Wonder how he really got it in the first place. Annoying overuse of four-letter words reduces my impression of an otherwise super fun book.

My initial positive impression of the captain wore off quickly when I saw what kinds of cruelty he is capable of. I believe I understand what message London is delivering here that is related to his beliefs and experiences, but I will suspend the evaluation until I finish. SUPER BOOK!
