This is badly inconsistent. Moments of it seemed promising, and then we had the disappearing boots. First, he sees her wearing boots, but then he remarks she has no footwear. The vampire is from the 16th century and then sometimes understands modern collegialisms, then doesn't. It is very arbitrary.
This needed an editor. If I am only 14% in and the writing is making me not want to continue.

This doesn't feel epic. The story is okay. The characters aren't making me feel excited or invested in any particular side. I'm kind of indifferent to this. The romance is nonexistent. Sure, there is talk of seduction and some mild interest, but I don't feel excited or buy the romance. This just isn't clicking for me. The sassy dragons are the most exciting thing here; alas, not enough to continue.

I was a little nervous to start this one. All the book rankings put this one quite low on the list. But I am so far loving this one. Tucker is such a sweetheart and Sabrina is quite likeable. Not sure where the dislike for this one comes from. 🤔I am hoping for good things to happen for him and Sabrina. 🤞🏻❤️ I am eager to see where this one goes.

The writing is a little chaotic. The dialogue doesn't flow, and it isn't natural. Plus, I am not a fan of Luna. There are moments she seems really smart, and then she is dumb so the plot can happen. Yeah, this may be a DNF for me. Shame.

Wow. I am not enjoying this. Celaena is not a very appealing protagonist. I don't dislike her, but I don't really care for her. Chaol is obnoxious. Dorian is arrogant. They are both despicable. And I can tell they are going to tell they are going to be in a love triangle with Celaena. 🙄 The mystery is not that exciting. This is not living up to the hype.

Teenage love triangle and they behave unbelievably. Weird, unbelievable circumstances. Yeah, I will DNF this.

Wow. This is really bad. No editing. Sentences don't make sense. I got to first s** scene and it just left me feeling cold. The mystery was intriguing, and now I don't care. There is no real chemistry between our two characters, just lust. No personality in any dialogue. Yeah, this will be a DNF for me.

Casey calling "The Girls" - "Fun Bags" is so off-putting. I wanted to DNF this the first time it was used. 🤦🏼‍♀️
I was hoping for a good arc for Casey. I wanted to believe the growth he would inevitably have becoming a father. Nope. He sorta grows up right away but thinks and talks with immaturity. It does feel genuine.
Caroline is also extremely annoying. Not feeling thr compatibility of these two.

I am sad that I am not loving this. This is just the humor and charm of the first two books. I just don't know what is happening half of the time. It is relying too much on the banter and interactions of the characters. My mind is wandering too much like it is bored. I don't remember where the story left off, and nothing is really happening. The plot isn't moving. I don't know what anyone is doing or where they are.

Not sure why this one gets a ton of hype. The mystery does not feel intriguing and frankly I am bored. Not sure I Will continue with this one.

The writing and storytelling are fine. I just don't think I am in the right mindset for this book.

I adore Freya. She is an amazing character. But I can already see Bjorn's betrayal coming from a mile away. I am feeling it. Things are not as they seem.

Otherwise, beautifully written. This is a fantastic story.

I haven't missed going back to this book. The characters were bland, confusing motivations, and the narration is sometimes hard to follow. It feels like it is trying to be dark for the sake of being edgy. Pass on this one.

In the prequel, how Heliconia gets her powers is dumb. The good guy gives it to her cause she "weakly" blackmails them? What?!?!
Also, I thought this princess was going to be the one to defeat Heliconia. Why is she ignorant of this fact? Why was she not trained? WTF? Plus, the whole romance tension feels contrived and frankly boring. I have no desire to continue this.

This is not very good. I gave grace to the novella prequel, hoping the main novel would be better. Alas, this is terribly done. The characters have the personality of paste, and the dialogue is bland and uninteresting. I have no desire to know or care about anybody.

I can't believe I have read 40% of this, and it feels like very little has happened. This. Is. Boring.

This is not an easy read. I do not love the narrative flow of this story. I am finding this hard to get into. My mind drifts too easily. I will keep going and see if this gets better.

This is nothing but sex and there is no emotional connection. I don't understand any of the motivations. Every single person is a sociopath or a psychopath. People are nothing but a commodity and are worth nothing more than the sex they provide. And these are supposed to be college students? When are they in class? WTF?

This is... okay.
I am not a fan of the world. There is a trial with the sages that will be happening, yet I am bored with all the lack of action.
Also, I am not 'feeling' Kya and Ryker's chemistry. I wonder if that is the fault of the audiobook vs. the text. The narrators have conflicting accents for Ryker, and he comes across a bit aloof and not really a resolute leader.

I am not sure what to make of this.
I am not even a ⅓ through, and the trials are already done.
The mate bond is enacted, yet our protagonists haven't even met. 🤔
These horrible Sages are trying to control "The Worthy" in regard to mate bonds, and their villainous ways seem petty and basic.
Okay... Now, what?
This better get really freakin' good, or it will get boring really fast.

This second book is not doing it for me.
I thought the ending of the 1st book was shocking, and I didn't love it. Now, we are doing the same thing - another reincarnation winning over Dracula. 🙄
The darkness in this book is not nice at all. I don't like it. I am no longer rooting for Rose to win over her love. Now, I think she should get away from this toxic f***in' situation!
