I think I've concluded why this book is so hard for me. I never seem to understand WHY any of these people go to war or kill each other or go on missions. It's like I'm being thrown between scenes, and I get their feelings about being there, but never an explanation of WHY? What's the point of it all? (War Is Hell?)

i've been mixing up shadowthrone and anomander rake this entire time. there are too many damn words in this book.
