I think I've concluded why this book is so hard for me. I never seem to understand WHY any of these people go to war or kill each other or go on missions. It's like I'm being thrown between scenes, and I get their feelings about being there, but never an explanation of WHY? What's the point of it all? (War Is Hell?)

really trying with this one but I'm not intrigued yet, really. I don't want to give up yet, however, since I got it recommended to me by a person whose taste I trust but... uuuuhh so slow
