Chapter 3 was really really good, but the antagonist is indeed a bastard…

Excellent slow burn so far

Enjoyed Witch Shall be Born more I expected, considering this is one of the less received short story he has written. In a modern setting, I could see this story of a witch being more of a tragedy than what we got. That said the plight of the people were well communicated and Conan nailed to a cross is iconic as hell.

The People of the Black Circles - I sometimes just wish the plots of Conan stories can be less repetitive. Like classics as Tower of the Elephant. That said, Howard still a damn good writer and takes advantage of his skills in this novella format. I was really burnt out previously so it’s nice being back.

I really did try reading this slow! Man this series just gets better and better and sadder and sadder for my boy Dresden. A sense a correlation as my favourite book is Ghost Story… I do love the slice of life aspects and just dealing with the aftermath of Battle Ground. Quite the meditative entry so far.

This is currently a reread, as I’ve read this through web serial, but first time with audiobook with this content and new narrator and for the most part enjoying it. Getting use to Erin’s (narrator) cadence and slow. Definitely weaker from the previous one, but far from bad. The reread going wonderfully and really reminds me why this series is so special and why Vol 7 is fantastic.

Yeah this book is fucken wild.

Some sad moments…

Man this book is just amazing and jam packed with ideas that you simply want to ponder upon.

I did not expect this book to be so funny…
