Yeah I’m likely not going to finish the book tomorrow, but I assume 2 days will do! We will see.

Not really exaggerating, but if Hobb provided 1000 more pages of Wintrow with his bond with… you know who, I would regard this series even better! Book is Excellent so far.

Was so close in finishing the book in 2 days, but I need some sleep, 3 days it will be!

Did I intend to read 40% of the book in one day, hell no, do I regret it, absolutely not! The beauty of a Saturday. Malta my beloved conniving astute woman, Wintrow and Kennit being magnificent and Amber a woman who loves a man so much she must part from him for the time being… so good man, even stronger than SoM so far.

Malta why! so many thoughts, but I know I will finish in the next 2-3 days at most so I will wait until then.

Yeah the book is still good! I had reserved expectation as I’ve seen people been very let down in this book compared to book 1, but feel quite similar. Despite the ridiculousness, the author captures the hearts of the characters so well, especially them reflecting on all that has transpired.

I finished Part 2: Autumn, man this section absolutely rules. It's just 4 chapters, but what glorious chapters... Wistrow arc makes me so sad and proud, Malta POV is very intriguing a real innocence to her which is understandable. She barely knows what's happening, while she's beyond rude at times, it's fitting. Althea had mainly one section which was awesome and Kennit's luck is really funny witnessing.

Chapter 16: New Roles... a fitting name indeed. The Hobb formula at this point, has some truly good/happy moments only to undercut it with tragicness, often in the same chapter. Happened to Fitz way too many times and now here.. It's a huge chapter so it's fitting, the parallel lives of Althea and Wistrow in their new ways of life, slowly feeling accepted and reality hits you like a motherf****r.

Midsummer is done! Too much to say that will use up all the character limit. I feel bad for the lad Wistrow and Althea, the rest of the family (at least most) are going through some shit. Kennit, while being an evil bastard is lovely to read, Kyle is just an abusive asshole and wish to see him die... Negotiations was a good way to end this season and really sets the stage well.

Ch 9-10 was the aftermath of that crucial day… oh boy what to say, the amount of loathing I have for a certain individual… Hobb written chapters called confrontations in the Farseer and they were always brilliant and heart-wrenching and Hobb does it once again. I will say I’m proud of that little man Wistrow, taking a stance despite what inevitably will transpire. A disaster how to going happen, FUCK.

This probably one of those series I'm surprised by its boom in popularity and everything in this series feel like it's targetted towards a more niche fanbase. As a whole it has been quite fun, the mix of existentialismm horror and comedy makes for a great combination. Definitely intrigued to see how Dinniman's imagination will blossom as it continues.

Chapters 5-8 depicts a crucial day. I really loved how messy this event came together. I particular feel for Wintrow and Althea though they definitely aren't the only ones affected. Though the most misunderstood ones in their family. Nothing comes out cleanly, reality hits us faster than anyone would anticipate there's some beauty especially with one conversation with Wintrow and another person...

Setting up to be something special… even when it’s not Fitz, Hobb intimacy is excellent. The 3rd person did take getting some use to during chapter 1, but chapter 2 onwards, I’m on board. Interested to see the dynamic of this family drama and how the antagonist intersect with the other cast. Definitely intrigued!

Pack Bros...

Vale of the Lost Women, it's fine... i like how we don't see Conan perspective for the whole tale, the beginning was intriguing and that's really it.

Drums of Tombalku - usually the beginning the strongest aspect and the ending one of the weaker, but here it's quite the reverse. This story wasn't quite finished, but had some edits and touch up by another writer. Like the main difference of Gollancz one I read vs Del Rey which is more accurate is mainly the very racist aspect in the beginning. The rest is pretty much the same, love the horror elements.

Frost Giant's Daughter - very fun tale, more akin to Mythology with the overt Norse and Viking Imagery. One aspect i could have done without... but such a really fun and short tale.

The Black Stranger - Sorta what you expect... it was published 20 years after Howard's death. The plot is relatively weak, while the series never disguised its racists connotations. The Piets as Native Americans is so obvious that you removing the name Piets and that will be your only conclusion. Howard is a good writer, but a very unmemorable tale.
