So, I get why Tiernon’s voice sounds like he’s been gargling rocks, but why does every other male’s???? Troy has some explaining to do.

I’m really invested already. I care about Arvelle and her family. Meg Sylvan is doing a great job with the audiobook narration, but I’m not super impressed with Troy Duran’s performance so far. Not only do the male characters all have basically the same voice, the voice sounds unnaturally low and gravelly.

I am really, REALLY struggling with the audiobook narrator - I think I have to read this one with my eyes 😅

Rather than re-read ACOTAR (this month’s book club pick) for the tenth time, I’m going to try this series. It has been on my radar to maybe read for years; I’ve heard conflicting things, but I’ll give it a shot.

Holy shit, I am loving this so far.

High hopes for this one, especially for the FMC’s audiobook narrator. Please no more monotone robot voice 🙏🏻

I’m liking this one a lot so far! It’s definitely holding my attention. I’ve had a hunch about the Guardian since the start, and I’m eager to see if it’s accurate.

I’m so confused. How are we only 68% of the way done? This book is so long, and both so much and so little has happened. So by about halfway, the audience gets the Rapunzel moment, but the rest of the characters are just going to keep on this stupid path for…forever? Also, I really dislike Pae’s nonstop whining about her soul being stained, especially to Kai (the Enforcer - ie Frequent Murderer). Stfu, girl.

Holy - and I mean this literally - fuck. These folks are wild. Reading via audiobook because Jacob Morgan is a ✨performer✨

I’m excited to start this after a hilarious recommendation from someone on TikTok. It sounds absolutely buckwild, and I’m in the mood for something spooky and silly.

The book is STUPID CUTE - I’m kind of mad I waited this long to start it.

Kyle is firmly on Team Tamlin at the end of Book 1, so we’ll see how things go with Book 2. I’m going to try my best not to squeal with delight every time Rhys appears, but it’s been so difficult!

Re-reading the series with my husband via audiobook. I told him it’s like a BatB retelling, so he has *some* idea of what’s to come, but he’s mostly going in blind. He has no strong opinions on any of the characters yet, but he’s giving Tamlin a lot of leniency because he sees him as the Beast character and thinks he’ll prove to be a good guy. Maybe I shouldn’t have said anything…

Grady Hendrix really knows how to piss me off and stress me out in the first half of his books! I recall feeling so upset that no one believed the protagonist of “My Best Friend’s Exorcism” at the start too. I have my own baggage with being met with disbelief, so it’s been difficult to experience that again through Patricia. The book is SO GOOD, though, and I’m excited to see what the second half brings!

Still loving the narrator, but I’m disliking the parts of the book pertaining to Mike and Beverly. Re: Mike, I’m not into hearing/reading racial slurs, especially coming from white men. Re: Beverly, much of King’s characterization reads like further abuse of an abused character. Her thoughts about herself, especially descriptions of her body (immature breasts=apples?) sound like a creepy male fantasy. No good.

My husband and I are listening to this as an audiobook. We really enjoy it so far, which I think is largely due to the audiobook narrator, Steven Weber. He does a fantastic job. The book is it’s own monster, and we’re having a hard time getting through it. We need to take a few more road trips to get through the next 32.5 hours.
