I’m 53% in and I have 51 bookmarks - I’m literally riveted by all that I’m learning, both historically and conceptually.

Okay. This could’ve been 100 pages shorter than it was. The slang was hashtag cringe.

Chapter 13 - Dakota is awful.

Wildly disappointing.

Chapter 39…the weakness of the FMC is seriously played out. Gaslit, yes. But convincing herself she has no choice,freezing up, mental dialogues that scream IDIOT, is redundant. I’m in this series for the COT banter, but this weak FMC is not worthy of the alpha devotion from the MC’s in this series.

The FMC family is toxic and awful. And the FMC is such a doormat. So effing gross. This book is terrible. There’s 30 minutes left- and there’s no redeeming it no matter what happens in the last 5 chapters. I’m giving it zero stars and finishing the thing so no one can ever say it’s because I DNF’d.

DNF - read up through chapter 14 and the CRINGE after CRINGE, the characters were awful beings, and the reactions were insipid and my head hurts from eye rolling. Skipped to chapter 37, more dumb characters doing stupid things, 38 all still idiots and more CRINGE. I’m done. It now I’ve lost 8 hours of my life I’ll never get back.

There is so much wrong with this up to this point

Just finished chapter 37. Not sure where any of these plot choices are coming from. Most of what has been described in this chapter is illegal. This genre allows you to soften the edges of logic - but I’m not sure I can force myself to finish a book with such idiotic premises.

67 %, not spot 67/477....well over halfway in and getting more disapppinted: this is too slow and redundant, i've read about 12 of the same scenes now...now there is no more "built anticipation" i'm just rolling my eyes, which sucks because there's potential. I'm tempted to just quit now.

bored, FMC was kinda weak, just rolled over. Nope. DNF

I gave it 63%. That’s all you get. These characters are too stupid on every level to spend a thousand pages with. This author doesn’t deserve any more of my time. I’m frankly bummed I wasted my credit on this one. Should’ve read the reviews more thoroughly.
