Are you kidding me? This mother is utterly useless. I’m considering giving up on this one. Leaving a lost special needs child to go find a man with a dog that may or may not home let alone be willing to help. I mean hypothermia can happen at 50° and would only be exacerbated by the heavy rain at 40°. Ridiculous.

How can one poor teen be surrounded by so many self centered adults. The only characters I like are Angie, Sophie, and Rigby. There better be a good story line involving sexuality and not just the look how progressive I am theme for the author.

I feel like this is missing caricatures to go along with the description of each of the women.

The language is anachronistic. An interesting story line, I’ll try to overlook the utter inconceivable nature of the story.

It’s a bit off putting that the author can disregard Olive’s first hand account of which tribe killed her family and how the women of a tribe were treated as being mistaken, but then assume Olive with held information because of her reacclimating into “white society“.

The best way I can describe the layout of this book is lost in the woods. It’s more memoirist than I expected. Also it is less applicable to North American nature than British. More photos or diagrams would help as I find myself googling images of mentioned plants often.

The tear inducing cemetery scene about killed me well not really but you get the idea. However I find myself rolling my eyes alot between yet another stalker and yet another attempted choking and now the school scene. I like Morgan Dane because she’s a strong woman but she’s so SMUG and self righteous.

It’s very intriguing and I’ve, somewhat, found the ‘cadence’ of the writing, but not clear where the story is going.

As a kid, or maybe just long ago, did you ever try to watch tv on a distorted channel where the screen is all fuzzy or squiggly but every now and then an image pops out clear as day? That’s this book.

I’m beginning to think all kindle first books must reference “white devils” or the like.

I’m not even sure what I’ve read so far...so either it’s not my genre, it’s poorly written, I’m not smart or enlightened enough for it, or there’ll be some huge aha moment...

Sometimes, I wonder how I find myself reading some books. It’s interesting to see the reach & impact of Darwin’stheories. Present the facts of the situation or of the history. I found the authors broadcasting of is opinions tiresome. The editorializing makes following Darwin’s theories seem dogmatic. Of course I now find myself buying On the Origin of Species. note to self this is how I end reading these books.

So far, I’m finding it to be a cheap ploy to sell books. There’s not any addition insight into Christian’s character that wasn’t derived from Ana’s POV.
