I don't believe a character is dead unless I see a body. Dystopias truly do have the same tropes, but I didn't realize "not really dead brother" (allegedly, this is my own conjecture) was a necessary one for the genre...?

I'm just really not vibing with this world upon a reread. It's pretty basic as far as fantasy worlds go, and every kingdom is evil and has no respect for human life-except the FMC apparently?? You've also had 3 hefty books to explain the magic and... nada.

The reviews are... worrisome. But I'm just going in hoping for a good time so... maybe that'll help. :')

Okay... I'm having a lot of fun with how spicy and ridiculous this is. HOWEVER, why oh why does it have FOOTNOTES?! I love that these authors love their characters so much that they've created lore about them that they put in footnotes, but it really messes with my reading flow and is totally unnecessary. 0.o

This is unhinged, but I love it. If you're a Lights Out by Navessa Allen or Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver girly... you've gotta read this!

I love that he's kind of evil and looks down on humans and is pretending to be a hero, but his idea of evil is taking over the news cycle, so he can be the number 1 hero. I'm dyingggg. XD

Elizabeth Stephens knows how to convince me the MMC doesn't like the FMC, and I love her for that. Like, why is this man thinking, "I can't stand her already." Like brooooo. You're gonna be in love in 50 pages or so. XD Such a fun dynamic!
