Listening to the audio book, his voice was a bit of a jump scare

I wish they had more self confidence (individually)

I can really sense the tension of the conflict building up rn. A bit annoyed bc this would all be solved faster if she just came out and said “I like you, but my grandma also deserves her family heirloom back”. But they’re both quite complex characters who haven’t reached that level of self awareness yet..😔

Grandma Mabel and Co are the biggest cockblockers of this century.

Whoever turned the music down in the bar was moving foul. These people are so dedicated to being nosy and gossiping it’s kind of sad, but also really funny..

Really good so far. My only gripe with this would be the narrator/author referring to the black girl as black. Whilst this character might be considered black in our modern-day context, she wouldn’t in the world building of this novel. There has been no indication of a history of racism and discrimination - hence the term ‘black’ feels misplaced..

Good world building, tho I don’t feel like we’ve made significant progress w/in the storyline…

I never thought I’d have to say this, but sex in flashback scenes should be illegal 😭

The janky Spanish is killing me - I’m listening to the audiobook

I hate him already. The scarcity trauma is really hitting him - but that’s not excuse. He is still acting like an entitled prick.

I definitely appreciate this book and the journey is has taken me on, but I’m also very happy this book is nearly over. This book has been too long.
