Really good so far. My only gripe with this would be the narrator/author referring to the black girl as black. Whilst this character might be considered black in our modern-day context, she wouldn’t in the world building of this novel. There has been no indication of a history of racism and discrimination - hence the term ‘black’ feels misplaced..
