This is getting painful, with too much focus on barely SF and the DC/Marvel etc comic world. IMO Superheros are a completely separate genre.

The author is too enamoured with Visual mediums and Super Heroes, which IMO are not SF. I was first reading SF and Marvel/DC in late 1960s. I thought of the UK comic "Dan Dare" and also "Thunderbirds" as sort of SF.

I may abandon this. Too clichéd, silly tech (Smart phone called a VIRGIL, but Smartphones existed when he wrote it!).
Daft VR with smell. Why would VR be used for delivering anything? It's only for gaming, so called augmented reality (Data view head up display) or prototyping product/architectural design.
Characters not very convincing. Clive Cussler seems much better.
