This damn book keeps bringing me to tears. It should be required reading for every American. Sharon McMahon is a beautiful storyteller and it’s so evident how much she loves this country.

I'm only able to read a little bit each day because... life. but still really enjoying this!

yall.... this is rough. the pace has been so slooow. honestly if I didn't already like these characters from previous books then I would have given up ages ago... I'm still considering giving up now because honestly I'm not entirely sure I care. I feel sad saying that because I love the Grishaverse.

someone tell me it's worth it...

Does anyone have this on kindle they could loan me? :D my copy from the library expired and it's estimated at like 8 weeks to get it again! I need to know whodunnit!

Really struggling with this one. I'm hoping there is some serious growth for both Karina and Malik... but right now they're both still very annoying in their naivety and self doubt. Each time I put this book down... I don't really miss it and I don't find myself really caring what happens. If you've read this... does it get better? Should I stick it out or put it on my DNF shelf??

Wish I had started this one right after Sky in the Deep because I already forgot some of the minor character's names :P

I kinda forgot I was reading this...lol

Only able to pick this up every few days before bed. Enjoying it, though!

slow and steady wins the race? :P ...for some reason I'm determined to finish this reread... not sure why. this is definitely my least fave of the series.

When you realize you haven't read a single YA fantasy book on the Goodreads Choice awards D: ....I'm so behind!

I'm well over halfway done with this book and I'm still wondering when the romance is going to happen? I initially thought there wouldn't be one at all but then I read some spoiler-free reviews that mentioned it and I'm just left wondering how the hell they're going to fit it in and WHO the hell she could possibly manage to fall in love with at this point... lol

I probably should have looked up if this is going to be a series... I don't see how this is going to wrap up in about 100 pages. This book has had my attention from very near the beginning, but it does seem like things went from happening kind of slowly.... to VERY fast. Just a little weird. Still enjoying :P

I love Michelle Obama and everything... but as an audiobook this is a little slow for me... like, she literally reads SUUUUPER sloooow. I've had to speed it up to 1.2x speed and even that feels slow now - but if I go to 1.5 it sounds ridiculous lol... not sure if I'm going to continue at this point.

:)

good so far! There seems to be more focus on the 'West' so I'm not very invested in Tané quite yet - though once I get into her chapters I do actually enjoy them.

It's always daunting to start a brand new high-fantasy novel, and possibly a mistake to not have the physical copy so I can reference the map every 5 seconds during the info-dump phase. However... now that I've started... I know I won't be putting it down. I love how Shannon writes (Bone Season fangirl, obvs) and I can tell she's building a beautiful world that I'm going to get lost in!

*currently listening* ...this is my second time trying to listen to this book. I'm further into the story the 2nd time around at least. The writing is very descriptive and heavy at the beginning so it helped that I had over an hour in the car to get started on it. Interesting and unique so far!

I keep finding myself tearing up during Manon's chapters...they're the most beautiful because the transformation of her & the witches is the most dramatic and moving. This book is so. good. ugh.

Finally getting around to reading this one so I can finally read Kingdom of Ash. The first chapter didn't immediately draw me in last year when I originally picked it up and it was the same again this time - but of course after I got past the first few chapters I'm now having trouble putting it down! Chaol has never been a particular favorite of mine but I'm loving the introduction of new faces like Yrene and Sartaq!

Very hard to put down - but I find myself wanting chapters from Rafe & Kaden more often... like a LOT more often! I'm a little tired of Lia?

just realized that in both of the books I'm reading right now - the main character's name is Cora...they are verrryyyy different!

Finding this hard to follow at times - hoping it straightens out more as it goes on...
