Presque fini, du coup je vais le finir mais... Même impression que pour Sur les ossements des morts. Pas totalement dénué d'intérêt, des choses intéressantes, mais aussi longuet et plutôt chiant. Je ne sais pas si je relirai l'autrice après ces deux romans.

do not enjoy it as much as i thought i would, but i will admit i did think it possible for this book to be a bit outdated - or too simplistic for someone who has been thinking about these things for so many years. this wouldve been a perfect read for my 16-to-20-year-old self, now it falls a bit flat. so far i believe that the novel hits a million times more than this essay 27 years later. not the same purpose but

Do not agree with the first chapter about overpopulation, although i understand where he might be coming from.

Ces lettres qui parlent de la cassure avec sa fille me font BCP de peine car elles me renvoient à mon adolescence rebelle où j'ai moi aussi eu peu de reconnaissance pour ma mère. + c'est touchant vu la relation intense qu'elles ont entretenue toutes les deux! Et en 1975, Alia écrit qu'elle n'a jamais aimé personne comme sa mère, qu'"il a fallu tant vivre et tant souffrir pour grandir, comprendre sa propre mère!" :'(

Lettre du 12 octobre 1933: "L'école française est une totale idiotie, c'est-à-dire un pêché capital. Tout par coeur : même l'Histoire Sainte. Le pire c'est que, sans le vouloir, j'apprends moi aussi tout pêle-mêle (...). C'est un pur délire. Face à cela, nos gymnases sont un paradis. TOUT PAR CŒUR."

Je la trouve pathétique sur certains points, mais en même temps elle me fascine au plus haut point. Et je me reconnais en elle sur deux points notamment ❤️❤️

Ses lettres sont très intéressantes à lire et ça confirme tout ce que je pense de cette poétesse; et dire qu'elle est comme ça depuis jeune ! Quel personnage ! J'adore ses "extrémismes" dans sa façon d'être un humain, dans ses comportements et dans sa vie - cela devait être à la fois exaltant parfois pour son entourage, et pesant et énervant d'autres fois. Quelle dévotion pour ce(ux) qu'elle aime.

Jai retrouvé ces moments mystérieux à (un peu) couper le souffle comme dans le premier tome, et c'est agréable de le revivre.

Really like the rhythm of this third installment, much better than the previous one. And I'm just so eager to continue each time to find out more

Un peu lent à démarrer mais l'affaire des lapins vient d'être évoquée, donc je pense que ça décoller incessamment sous peu

L'ensemble ne m'emballe pas trop pour le moment, même si il y a parfois un vers ou feux qui me plaisent beaucoup. Mais c'est tout.
