I enjoyed this story on its own merits, AND as a palate cleanser with its lighter tone. I loved the voice so I want to check out something else by this author.

Every time I start a 500 page book I'm like "this is gonna take me forever" and then knock out 25% of it every night. I AM LOVING THIS BOOK, GIVE ME ALL THE JOHN BOYNE NOVELS NOW
