Dust theory is super strange. I don't know how i feel about it. Breaking consciousness down into slices that don't have to occur consecutively in time is pretty interesting though. I'll withhold judgement.

I cant help but be interested, despite the semi-dry writing. Discussing simulated consciousness is hard to be bored with. Its like a prequel to the show Upload but darker and not funny.

Hobb is good at making things very costly, but it also hits the pace quite a bit. Still makes it believable and I hope it earns me a more satisfying end.

Just starting but its definitely more concept than story so far. Still, cyberpunk adjacent so ill ride with it.

People saying stupid shit about good people because shit people lied enough is so incredibly vexing. I literally rolled my eyes in reaction. Well done Hobb.

I find myself emotionally invested in more than just Fitz now. This is good. And painful.

Slower start than I expected but challenging the very framework of a hero's body is a good place to pump the breaks.

Not as much impact from the happenings in book 3 than I had expected (yet). The time passing so quickly between books is always a bit jarring. Much of the opening section is just reviewing old information during an action sequence, but I’m somewhat impressed with how naturally the author pulled that off without making it feel too repetitive.

This is really quite good. I worry for my heart now.

Kinda paint by numbers assassin/court training but with a lot of heart underneath. Nothing mind blowing so far but enjoying it.

Gross crime but doesn't dwell on it too much. Thankfully the real focus is the characters and social commentary. Titus seems like a great guy but I get the feeling a lot of the antagonistic characters are more caricatures than fully formed individuals. We shall see. Still works and maybe that's just part of the genre. It's also readable like I imagine crack is smokable.

Easily the darkest of the Narnia books so far. Withholding judgement for now.

Strange going from epic scifi writing to crime thriller simplicity. Seems good so far but still setting up.

Somehow I feel more connected to this story than I did in the previous books. It also helps that I am reading another book about AI extreme future crackpots leading humanity into madness. All of it feels more plausible now. Mericanii first.

Man this whole section on bias for AI is insanely compelling. This book is a hell of a takedown of the hype train. So far its incredible.

Not quite what I expected. It is good to hear a counter argument against the AI hype train.

Could be a good one. I have a feeling it's going to be tough for the kiddo though. She is already very mad at the false Aslan.

Excellent first few arcs. Interested to see where it goes and am definitely all in on the series now.
