I love intricate details & character driven novels. However at chapter 232 I am struggling. I have zero connection to any of the characters. I truly want to love Saint who is brave, loyal, and strong. But I hardly know her. I despise Patch/Joseph. What a f-ing ridiculous ark of a character. And what the hell happened to the captain?? I am not sure I care enough to find out.

I hate Beatrice so much, the only reason I’m continuing to read this book is to see what horror befalls her. If she isn’t maimed by the end of this book, I’ll never read another book in this series.

Oh I do love this book. But I am at a loss as to why it’s titled Anna Karenina. The emotion and detail of feelings Tolstoy captures is overwhelming at times. Definitely a top 5 favorite books of all time at 75%. Fingers crossed with the ending.

I’m listening to this book. The person chosen to narrate this book is a terrible choice for this story. Her voice is too perfect as he voice of Tara. I perceive her to have so much more character than the person chosen to be her voice in this audio edition.

This book started out quite slow. Half way through I was able to sink my teeth into the story and grew to fall in love with Captain and Johanna. A beautiful story.
