this is so meandering and lame im halfway through the book and its been like two days and nothing has happened. i cant even believe this was written by the same person whi wrote annihilation

its the complete opposite of annihilation 😭 that was such a packed and fast paced read and this is just nothing. its not even mysterious anymore 😭

i love this book omg. so creative and atmospheric that truly takes skill

φοβερο μεχρι στιγμης, εχει τη τελεια ισορροπία ανάμεσα στο να ειναι σαν ημερολογιο δηλαδη να πηδαει απο γεγονος σε γεγονος και απο αναμνηση σε αναμνηση αλλα ταυτοχρονα εχει πολυ ωραια ροη και σε κανει να ενδιαφερεσαι και να νιαζεσαι για τους χαρακτηρες. επισης σκιαγραφει πολυ ωραιες εικονες της νεας υορκης και σε κανει να θες να εισαι και εσυ εκει.

and then theres evie/sam who i LIKE but the love triangle is so bad for them like oh my goddd way to make jericho into a creep. and its like now evie will end up w sam cause hes the only one left. but thats not how romances should work, convince me why evie and sam WANT to be w each other, and omg i j realized i forgot abt theta/memphis, yea this authors stong suit isnt romance. im enjoying the book tho <3

also its hilarious how underdeveloped the romances are in this book likeeee i was pissed awf abt ling and alma but tbh all the other romances are only marginally better like mabel and arthur (why was mabel thinking abt evie while having sex w him. gay ASS), henry and the dude w no character, even evie and jericho.... BOO!! the gay romances are still noticably worse though. except for henry and louis !! my kings!

this book is so funny, everyone is facing their dark pasts and meanwhile mabel is campaigning for unions and bombing mines 💀

i love that the book is considered less contextually gay than the movie and yet ton has a mental breakdown after seeing dickie kiss marge and monologue about how he didnt expectthat from him. after a chapter of like fantasizing about the euro trips they were gonna go on together. LMFAO
