Morgan is on page 217 of 525 of Insurgent (Divergent, #2)
Insurgent is everything Divergent is not. All of the flaws and problems with Divergent are now gone. The story is exciting, and engaging. Scratch that - there actually IS a story. Going good so far.

Let's hope the story gets better. I felt like the plot of Divergent didn't even start until the last 100 pages, so hopefully this one picks it right up

My first impression of this book is not that great. I am a little biased as I saw the trailer for the movie and so I already had imagined what I thought it would be. It's getting better, and I expect it to continue in that direction, but I find the entire notion of the faction system simply dumb. Human beings are characterized by their individuality, and I doubt they would force themselves to lose that if they could.

..but also that the majority of people have agreed to not kill the zombies because they used to be related to someone. Now, I'm not saying people wouldn't feel this way, but for the civilization as a whole to agree not to kill (easily) these threats to their safety due to sentimentality and instead pay people to do what should be done on a large scale in private is ridiculous. It has gotten better, but is still "meh"

I started reading this around midnight so maybe my opinions were slightly influenced by drowsiness, but my initial impression was not a positive one. I'm generally skeptic of really anything zombie-related due to the stories overall stupidity... Not the zombie part, but how they are dealt with, and this was no different.
This book would have me believe not only did the forces of the world die because of this, but..

Morgan is reading Freedom Summer: The Savage Season of 1964 That Made Mississippi Burn and Made America a Democracy
I've only read the Prologue and even that was done with wide eyes and an open mouth. Which is crazy! I've heard about this type of violence every year of my life, but I guess it's not a bad thing that it still shocks me. I don't think I would like the person who didn't have an extreme emotional response after reading something like this. I never want to become that desensitized.

This book has a curious way of making me reconsider decisions, opinions, and my life in general. Damon, I think, is going to be one of those characters that is so real, so very real, that I am going to remember him forever. This book makes me very reflective.

Sam just got shot. Dev is in a coma after Damon convinced him not to desert and he feels it's his fault. The reality and brutality of war is setting in. Even Damon isn't immune to bullets.

Progress a little hindered by Honors History and the required reading, but I hope to finish that soon and get back onto this one. I love it; it's awesome.

I hope this book not only helps me understand how to become a screenwriter, but motivates me to action.

"Movies are only about wanting something, a character wanting something that you, the audience, desperately want him to have. The writer, keep{s} him from getting it for as long as possible, and then, through whatever effort he makes, he gets it. A film works when you, the audience, want something for a character as much as he wants it for himself."

Almost done. It's taken me a while to work on it due to school and other stuff. Also, the beginning was a little slow for me. I love it now though. Already ordered the next two in anticipation. My only issue is that I keep trying to compare it to the movies. It's hindering the experience a little, but the book is so good it can compensate for my mistakes. ha

Ahh! The book is good and all, but it's a little annoying to read the same lines from the previous books over and over again. Literally every book has the line, "And somehow, I knew I wouldn't be seeing {Mom, camp, home, school, etc) for a long time." Every. single. time. Also, I don't like Thalia. haha.
