So it turns out this is YA fiction, which explains the simplicity of everything.

Starting Chapter 23. I have mixed feelings, the book is written almost too simply for my tastes, but it is tackling some heavy topics, women's rights and slavery. Rosaleen has become friends with a black woman and wants to help the Abolitionists.

NOOK`s December Serial Read. Not sure I'll keep reading this. I'm not familiar with spy novels, but so far this one seems sparsely detailed, unrealistic, and a bit silly.

I know very little about Italy and very little about Atlantis, so far nothing much has drawn me into this book. So far it reads (imho) like YA fiction trying very hard to be grown up.

NOOK's October Serial Read. I'm enjoying this more than I thought I would based on the title. It's also a creepy haunted house story, I'm getting a bit of whiplash from the sudden switches between time travel romance and haunted house LOL. But I am genuinely enjoying this. Got started reading it later in the month, not sure I'll be able to finish.

NOOK's June Serial Read is a very Hallmark-style lesbian romance. I don't usually read romances, and definitely don't usually enjoy the Hallmark style. But so far so good with this one, I guess I'm in the mood for this stuff at the moment, I guess. The chapters are insanely long though, between 65 - 75 pages.

Isabelle is finished with Inker and Crown (Guilds of Ilbrea #1)
I finished reading it, but I'm not ready to rate it yet. There is so much hurt and anger in the last few chapters, and there is so much of that in the real world right now, I kind of feel numb.

Trying to finish reading before it's unavailable on May 31st anymore. The story finally picked up, I'm curious to see how it "ends", even if the end is just a lead in to the next book. I don't think I'll be overly disappointed if I don't get to finish it though. I'm not in love with the story or the characters.

The story is finally starting to pick up a bit. I finally have a clue what the story is about, but so much is still a mystery. I'm also beginning to think that this entire book is just an introduction and the real story won't start until the second book.

NOOK Serial Read for May. I've gotten to Chapter 8 and still have yet to discover what the story is about. So far it's been introducing the various characters, their relationships to each other, and establishing the society the story takes place in.

I am addicted, despite the story line being simple and straightforward. The story seems empty somehow too, but I can't put my finger on why. I haven't read this author before, so I don't know if the simplicity is just her writing style, or a reflection of the post-apocalyptic world of the story, or even just how the main character experiences that world.

Reading this via NOOK's Serial Reads. I finished chapter 8 (out of 60) this morning. So far I'm really enjoying it, it's well written and creative, and I love the idea of magic that's actually science.

Picked this up from Dollar Tree because the description on the inside flap sounded interesting. So far it's meh, it feels like a story I would have written in high school, too much drama.

I've been watching the new Lost In Space on Netflix, so I've decided to read about the original Robinson family. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. The family seems very Brady Bunch, with Dad either praising or reprimanding his sons for every action they take. And lecturing about God.

Snobbish was the wrong word. The narrator's voice seems pretentious to me.

Hmm... Not really enjoying the narrator's voice in this one so far. Seems a bit snobbish to me. Plus there's a whole lot of "telling" and not a whole lot of "showing". I'll read a little bit more to see if it gets better...
