This is a rom com but it is the story of the other women. The mean one who gets dumped when the hero runs off with the love of his life.

And it is so far a good read.

“Late at night on 10 June 2021 I googled Parihaka and had 224,000 hits, so it's difficult to avoid unless you want to. I did, and it took very little effort on my part to wander about in the 'dementia wing' of our colonial history, where I had the company of an awful lot of other people”

Im enjoying this, a NZ European teacher who started his career in the 60s recounts the events in his career. At the moment he is teaching in Samoa, maybe it is because I have Samoan heritage but I can really feel his story🥰

Dan Organ is on page 40 of 356 of Rice, Noodle, Fish: Deep Travels Through Japan's Food Culture
Contrary to popular belief, sushi isn’t about freshness, , it is about timing, . Not just your rice the proper temperature, but also having your fish the perfect age. Serve fish too soon out of the water and its muscles will be too tight and flavour underdeveloped. Wait to long and the protein turns to mush.

The most enjoyable kai read so far this year. Delicious. 🤤
