I'm not gonna lie, I did not like seeing the multi-pov chapters in the table of contents ;/

What Powerless wishes it was

Kind of boring. The relationship between Paedyn and Kai feels so forced and inorganic.
Sometimes the characters have inner dialogue and questions themselves on why they care so much about each other. I like to think that they are sentient and realizing that the author is making them follow a plot like a puppet.

Starting off cringey here

It’s getting hard to focus on the book. It feels as though there’s not really a plot. I’m reading bits and pieces of interactions with other characters or small moments that the main character experiences but nothing feels like it’s moving the plot forward.

Fast paced, but also not? Really reminds me of Eleanor Oliphant and I Hope This Finds You Well.

Perhaps Im picking up these types of books and protagonists unintentionally haha

Lots of fixation on Sis’s forehead.

So far the MC is instantly unlikeable; she comes off as a bitter woman who hates her life and is taking out (unhealthily) on everyone. She needs a new coping mechanism. Very much reminiscent of Eleanor Oliphant but more angsty.
She made a comment about another coworker's smelly food in the office. I would hate to see what she'd say if it was someone's ethnic food they brought and not a caesar salad.

Im gritting my teeth reading through this. Its like an angsty teenager who read too many wattpad bad boy fanfics wrote this.

A few sentences to sum the book so far:

Sarcastic comedic breaks at serious moments (gets real stale)

This is one of the first actual thrilling/suspenseful books I've read in a long time (that doesn't explicitly state blood/gore/etc). It gives that feeling, black mirror as a book.

The writing is amazing, the pacing is great, the cover is cute haha. I'm on the edge of my seat with each word I read.
