There isn’t a prediction that I can make but an important event is when Sean Avery the storyteller isn’t drafted to the nhl at the start of the book. No one wanted Sean she a 9th round pick even and 300 people were taken onto teams, I think the book will just tell the story of his life and struggles.

The tone of the author in my book is reflective. He is telling a story about him self and he obviously didn’t do everything perfectly so he tells what he did while saying what he thought about his decisions. The tone is also direct because he is just saying exactly what happened and what his reaction to it was. They also might be sentimental because it is a biography so they try and make them self look good.

The genre of my book is biography. The title just says “my story” so it is a biography. Also, Gordie Howe talks about the events that happened in his life. Chapter 1 is “Early Days” so that is him talking about the events early in his life.

If there was advice I could give to my character it would be to keep trying in school even when things were hard early on. Also, to keep trying to make yourself better and stronger. So that would mean to do off ice conditioning and do extra shooting at home and skate more to get better at that too. This would help with being more independent later on and wanting to better your self on your own, being a better player.

The structure of my book is in chronological order of their life story. This a a biography that starts with early days and ends with overtime. There is a similar theme that you just have to keep working and trying through the book though. It doesn’t just say the good things that happen but it tells all the ups and downs and how they keep pushing on to strive to succeed.

Also read 26 pages of Mr. Hockey: My Story. This story was told in 3rd person limited. All the characters are talked about by their name and it tells their stories but also gives detail on what they are thinking. My other book I started is a 1st person about Gordie Howe. Gordie Howe narrates the story about him self. He says “I” and “my” in a lot of the story about him self.

There isn’t no archetype of a setting in my book because it is just stories around the player and what’s it takes to be tough and be in the nhl. The setting is just where ever the player is when they are talking about him or her. Most of the time it is at the rink or training to be better. There is no meaning of the ice rink it is just where they are. I could relate the book to my self because I played hurt and sick.

There is no character archetype for my book so I will do one for to kill a mockingbird. Atticus Finch’s archetype is the hero. He stands up against almost all people in his community and how they are racist. Atticus stands up for Tom Robinson and does his case where no one else would. This shows he is the hero because he stands up for what he thinks is the right thing to do not what most other people around him say.

The audience for my book is any person that plays hockey and is looking to find what things they can do to make it to the nhl. The author wants these sort of people to read this so that it can inspire them and tell them what it takes to be strong. The audience for this book is around teenagers because they don’t expect college level players to read this because they already made it this far.Its for learning players.

I am currently on page 50 of this new book. A minor character is Hayley Wickenheiser. She is mentioned when the book talk she about making it into professional hockey. She is a center, five-time Olympian, team captain of Canada’s women’s national team. The author included her into the story to say that making it to professional hockey takes perseverance and good work ethic to make it and she had it in her.

Glen hanlon is a static character in my story. Glen had a mindset of hard work, preparation, and position. He had played as a goalie in the nhl and saw lots of many different aspects of playing. He had that mindset the whole time he had played and would end up coaching in Europe, the nhl, and the ahl where he would try to impliment the mindset in his goalies he taught. He is static because he stayed the same always.

I am currently on page 175 of 225 on my book. The archetype in my book is over coming the monster. There is no monster physical or metaphorically. The player is over coming their injury or something that happened to them and had a negative affect they were able to come back into the game and help their team win. Or they can get back on the ice coming back to try and get better and help them self.

My book is character vs self because there are many stories within the book there are different characters stories. Their story always has to do with them getting injured and they come back into the game and make a good play. Their decision against them self is usually whether they should come back into the game and try and play after something significant happened.

My books is a character driven book because it is a bunch of biographies and each person. The characters show growth because each character shows how they would get injured during and game and then make a recovery to a serious injury and come back in that game. Or also if they get hurt and come back even stronger with their training.

There is a lot of characters in my book and there is no specific setting but it could either be at an ice rink or where ever that individual does off ice training. The book is about hockey players and how they show how they have been tough. It is like one of the players getting a stick to the face and he started bleeding. He got stitches and came back into the game.

There is no character in the book to the point that I am at. My book is more of a how to and what to do. It is more setting up for how to succeed in playing a high level of hockey and maybe going to the nhl. I could technically be the character but there is no sympathy really because I am ready but I guess you could say I am sympathetic for my self. It is like I root for my self.

There isn’t real setting in this book because it just talks about hockey in general. The book talks about some of the things that go on in the nhl and what it takes to over come them. The book also has stories of how some players stood out because of their toughness. A player once got cut in game and had to get stictches and he came back after he was stitched up.

There is not a standing out antagonist that is very obvious because my book is a how to. But the antagonist for people trying to make it to the NHL is your self. In the book the author says you and you only can be the deciding factor in making it. I am the antagonist of the story because if I want to make it to the NHL then I have to work hard in hockey and school and keep it up. Also, I have to not ever give up.

There is no protagonist in my story because it is just the author talking in general. They do state specific experiences they they had just so you know that they seem like they know what they are talking about. Also, it is pretty much a how to book so there is no character doing the action. The author just tells the story they don't lead you through though so that is a different reason why there is no protagonist.

I can predict that I will start to see little improvements gradually in hockey and as a person. In the book it mentions you should do off ice to keep up your strength and get stronger. I try and keep up with that and do that when I can. After doing it for a while I belive I will start doing more reps and it will get easier as I do more of any kind of workout exercises. Also, the two authors played high level hockey.

Connection- Text to self
In the book that I am reading I connect it to myself mostly because I play hockey but there a specific thing so that I can relate too in the book. In a chapter that talked about off ice training I can connect to that because I have to do off ice training a lot to keep in shape. Also, I have off ice to become stronger over all. In the the book I also relate to how they say not to give up.

Why does the two authors of the book talk about in multiple chapters about not making it to the NHL? I think he brings this up because it gives you hope that you could still make it to the NHL even if you are not the most talented player. Also, because it gives you the reality of it and if you really wanted to become an NHL player then you would have to not give up and always try to better your self all around.

1. I do not feel any of the senses while reading my book because it is more informational than anything. This book just gave me knowledge and an inspiration to keep trying to do my best.
2. I can't visualize this text just because of how the book is written but if you don't remember what you just read you can say it out loud or deeply focus when reading. My strategies are to just read over again or read out loud.

I am reading this book because I am not a big reader. It wasn't too long and it was appealing topic to me because I am a hockey player. Hockey has always been my main interest And on the cover page it said a guide for young players so that applied to me.
