Cicely is on page 182 of 339 of The Ministry of Time
This is a fun book. A bit tricky to read in parts, I have to pull out the dictionary more than I thought I would need to. I’m wondering if the characters would be more “freaked out” being taken from their former lives to live in the 21st century.

This book is fantastic. A detailed guide to old world carnival events in Europe. I especially like reading about the Kukeri in Bulgaria. I would love to travel there to see this festival.

I started reading this book at the beginning of April, and I am whizzing through it. Having Huckleberry Finn read to me as a child, I only have faint memories of it. This book is intense, amusing in parts, and insightful.

This is an interesting book. The entire Murdoch family are nuts. They hid behind their wealth and ethnicity, but underneath they were morally corrupt.

Cicely is on page 84 of 225 of Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man
This book is a fascinating account of what makes Donald Trump tick. It analyzes his personality from a psychological standpoint. A lot of the reason the Donald is such a sociopath, is how he was raised. He father was pure evil, and his mother was ill.

I am reading it on my Kindle, and Kindle has screwed up the pages, so that’s annoying. I have a paperback somewhere, but I can find it. It’s an interesting read!

Cicely is on page 44 of 484 of A Secret History of Witches
The author doesn’t rely on European folklore and customs for her sources. It’s as if she is writing about 20th century pagans, with their Book of Shadows. Maybe it will pick up.

Cicely
Cicely is on page 44 of 484 of A Secret History of Witches
I am starting out this book, so far, I wish the author had relied on actual historic and anthrolpological accounts as to was it was for “witches” back the. She tends to write about the women as if they are 21st century pagans, with books of shadows, etc. European folklore has it’s own magic, and it would have been inspiring if she had relied on that. Perhaps it picks up.

This book gives a very compelling account of his life in France with his family. It gets a bit detailed in parts, so it can be slow going.

Cicely is on page 238 of 282 of The Threat: How the FBI Protects America in the Age of Terror and Trump
It’s an interesting book. I find it quite dry, and therefore it has taken me ages to get through. I was expecting more trash talk on Trump, but it’s more scholarly than that, but not for the casual reader, as I think it’s more of a book for a lawyer, or an FBI employee.

An eye opener as to how the concept of the Trinity evolved. It’s mostly readable. Some subjects are a bit technical.

Often diaries are somewhat dreary. Not this one, Sedaris sees the bizarre, sad, and hilarious things in life, and takes note of it!

Cicely is starting Witching Culture: Folklore and Neo-Paganism in America (Contemporary Ethnography)
Great. Written from an anthropologist's point of view, this book is for everyone as well as academia. The author herself is a pagan, and what makes this book fascinating is that she teases apart events, people, trends, and beliefs of contemporary paganism, clarifying the time line and lineage of different traditions. Go Sabina!
