Do I care that this is a textbook? No. Into the Reading Challenge it goes.

This one is definitely the most slow-paced of the three..

Iris’s narrator’s voice sounding halfway like Beyoncé’s speaking voice is really doing some things for me..

Already liking this book sooooo much more than the first one, premise is way more interesting.

I’m rereading this after a decade to refresh my mind before the show and, um, well. It’s really bad. Deeply concerned reflections to come.

It’s not that this book is bad, it’s just.. very anti-climactic? Better for a cozy read and I am not really one for cozy reads. I want drama. 😭

I'm not going to be one of the people who complains why Margaret's story is juxtaposed against the romance because it does form the premise for the book after all, but why write about an American dynasty in the blandest and most whitewashed terms? This could be the story of any other successful prospector family.
