Cal is starting Breaking Jade (A Companion Book to The Fallocaust Series, #1)
Unfortunately for me I’m not completely and totally obsessed with this series, Elish and Jade in particular, so I will be reading this book again already. I am NOT ready to move on.

This series is so insane. Bat shit crazy. I’m kind of obsessed. I can’t believe there’s 5 million words and it’s still ongoing.

I really feel like I’m missing something with this series honestly because yes it is fun and silly but I do not understand the almost 5-star rating, especially when random events that didn’t even happen in the series are brought up out of the blue, stuff that seems like maybe it would have been important to mention before that point. I just am not getting it. There must be something I’m missing!!!

I think it’s funny that this is the third mm law enforcement series I’ve read in which one of the main characters is named Doyle. It leaves me wondering how many there are in total. A flock of Doyles.

This book is really good and fun so far but MAN it really could have used another round of edits. The typo situation in this book is a bit obscene even for KU standards.

I don’t think I’ve ever said this but I love when characters in romance novels aren’t traditionally attractive. I understand why it’s the way Things Are Done because at its core romance is escapism and people like reading about pretty people but it’s nice to read about average and normal and sometimes ugly humans finding love too.

It is very funny to me that I’m reading this book on a day that my OCD has decided to go haywire. I’m sitting here performing my OCD rituals while reading a book about a guy performing his OCD rituals. Love it queen!

I really want to stick out this book and see how the story ends because I like Lonan but HOLY SHIT Ash is one of the most infuriating protagonists I’ve ever read. Like yeah we can tell you’re a 21 year old man alright. Jesus Christ he needs to be slapped. I am not sure if the author intended for him to be quite so insufferable but I don’t think so. He’s SO FRUSTRATING!!!

Ash was much more tolerable in the second book but immediately hits the ground running in #3 by being an insanely controlling and selfish prick again. Who is surprised.

Tell me how trees that were just underwater are able to catch fire immediately from someone throwing a lit lantern on them. That is basically impossible. But okay.

I’ve been reading too many monster books because last night I had a crazy nightmare about monsters chasing me and trying to kill me. Doesn’t mean I’m gonna stop though.

I am almost done with this book and I’m still not sure how I feel about it. I want to like it so bad but the author writes so unapologetically BRITISH that it just keeps yanking me out of the story. Pip pip cheerio here in the ancient times kind of deal.

I had been avoiding this Tal Bauer book because girl it is LONG and it looks EXTREMELY angsty but I’ve seen several people say is this Tal Bauer’s best work by a mile so I’m finally buckling down and giving it a go. So far my kindle says this will take me 21 hours to read so Godspeed to me.

This author does a great job at making me pissed at both main characters without actually explicitly spelling out a reason for me to be pissed at them. It’s frustrating but in a good way lmao.

I’m usually not a big fan of books that go back and forth between present and past but I am finding myself enjoying this far more than I usually do with other books using the same format. The author does it extremely well and instead of being frustrated like I usually am I’m actually having fun with reading it.
