Did not expect to see that in this tea-soaked, straitlaced empire.

I know that my GR friends issued warnings in their review of this one (The tea! So much tea!), but it's been sitting on my nightstand for so very long now that I had to at least make an attempt.

And yes, tea is mentioned on the very first page.

Well, that one ended darkly.

Not having access to PMs on GR really, really sucks.

I'm thinking that each of us needs to start their own Group and invite our GR peeps to that group so that we can communicate with one another. Leaving non-review comments on their book reviews doesn't seem to work and might be too public for private matters.

Of course, the extra server load might lead to Amazon pulling the plug on groups too.

Nothing like Scalzi to help get you over reading a bad book.

With the elimination of messaging here on GR, I've decided to explore other options should Amazon continue its GR cutbacks. I'm not leaving GR, just diversifying.

My first attempt at a new residence is LibraryThing. Importing my library and reviews was easy, but the format is different and maybe a little daunting at the moment. If you go, feel free to contact me there: same screenname, same avatar.

Well, that was terrifying.

I took a class based on this book a few years ago, and it helped me to finish the book I'd been working on for several years. I felt it was time for a refresher.

Got an email this AM saying GR is creating a DNF shelf on 2/28, and if you have something similar, it will be converted over. Not exactly functionality that was needed since we could do that anyway, but I'm guessing that Amazon wants to simplify things so that it can collect data.
