Buried beneath all of the fight scenes, there's an actual story!

My son bought me this book. He's a Warhammer 40k fan; I've only played the Fire Warrior video game on PS2.

While I've heard good things about the first book in the Horus Heresy series, I have no desire to tackle a series that's 65 books long.

After reading the book blurb, I am not confident that I will enjoy this, but I will give it a try. The things we do for family. ;-)
