Kiedis is a complete and utter hypocrite.

The narrative struggles to tread water under the onslaught of one-liners. Funny to begin with, it quickly becomes tedious.

Whilst Anne's command of prose and lexicon are easily the equal of her sisters, she clearly has less imagination as this novel is clearly much more autobiographical, sometimes even clearly sniping at her lot in life, at least as much as The Bell Jar is for Plath, and whilst it does still serve to occasionally shock and romance the reader it isn't nearly so riveting as Wuthering Heights or Jane Eyre.

First alarm bell is the reading of the 'advance praise', I already bought it, please lay off the adverts.
Second is the terrible audio with empty channel feedback and sounds of fidgeting left in.
Third is the clichéd 'man writing woman' flaws.
Next, clumsy narration, run-on.
Then we have clumsy writing in general.

Shame, I fancied something contemporary and different, pity that it wasn't executed well enough.
