I picked up this book again after pausing for several months, about halfway through. It's good - it is. I think I just needed some time before I felt ready to put effort into creativity again.

Good so far.

I'm invested! And I relish how things are becoming more complicated and less predictable.

I'm savoring the cozy Christmas vibes and the blossoming friendship between Harriet and Nolan.

Bum bum bum so we found out what Carrie's secret is! I have mixed feelings about it and honestly think things worked out for the best in her regard, even though she's having a hard time of it.

I like Lucy and I'm happy she's got a chance to have some fun away from the city and her Mom and Gran who are a couple of stuffed shirts.

So much could go wrong! Really feeling the stakes are high.

I like the character of Carrie best so far, though the main five are all likeable. She's closest to my age and I'm curious about why she REALLY left her skiing job.

Things are heating up! Loving the squad loyalty.

So far, I like it! It's a stark contrast to the Romance-Fantasy genre of The Empyrean series (which I'm also in the midst of reading). But I'm getting a cozy vibe and 'Winter Solstice' is a perfect story to read in December. I'm interested to find out what happens next for Elfrida.

Oh my !!!

The plot thickens! Van Helsing reminds me of Professor Fritz from Little Women. A strange comparison, I know. It may be because of their voices sounding similar on the audiobooks. Fritz was from Germany and Van Helsing was from Holland. Both speak with an accent and have a kind of good-hearted nature in addition to being learned men.

I'm glad that a certain someone is OK! Thoight for sure they were a goner!

Not bad so far! I like the format of journal entries - it's a compelling audiobook.

I'm having quite a few "holy shit" moments at this point of the book.
