So far of the Miss Marple stories, I've read #1 (Vicarge) and #3 (Moving Finger). Both of those had a first-person narrator, which I enjoyed. It brought a personal story along with the main mystery. This one is different: no narrator, just a third-person mystery. So off the bat it's less enjoyable for that reason. I'm still interested though, and I like that there are several familiar characters from Vicarage.

This romance has more serious content than the other romances I've read lately, but I'm still enjoying it. The premise is unique and the characters are complex.

I was expecting this to be like Tara Brach's other book: Radical Acceptance. But it's formatted differently, being a collection of short anecdotes and lessons. I love the watercolor artwork found throughout.

This has been a very entertaining and (for me) a very different kind of romance novel from what I'm used to. I'm eager to know how it ends.

"...we have to learn what it feels like to admit our mistakes and limitations and find out how wonderful it feels not to be rejected for being less than perfect. [...] And if we don't accept less-than-perfect people into our lives, we will be very lonely, because those are the only kind of people we will find."

I feel like at this point Agatha Christie thought, "Well, that's enough clues for now. Time to mislead the reader!"

I'm pleasantly surprised that this story is about a British lady living in London. So far, I'm enjoying it and reading through it fast.

So far I'm enjoying this light romance! Maybell is relateable and Wesley is endearing. The bits about them cleaning the old house are a little too real for me! hahah

I'm only reading the sections that apply to my own birth chart, which account for about 1/6 of it. And WOW! I'm so glad I picked this book up. This is the first book of several I've read on astrology that goes in depth about the moon's nodes.

It's soothing just to read this. The chapters are short, alternating between a sort of essay style and suggested practices.

This is a good workbook so far and easy to follow. I'm glad I picked it up so I can follow the guided exercises and get some hands-on experience looking at my own birth chart.

Hawk and Remi make a good team. 🙂

So far, the story is exciting and mysterious. I'm having some trouble connecting with the characters, but I'm willing to keep reading.

These last couple chapters are where this book stands apart from other beginner astrology books I've read. Chart Interpretation: how do we do it effectively? Where do you start when there's so much information? And how do you separate the truly important from the merely noteworthy?

This, and understanding transits, are the two things I want to learn about most.

The conversation between Jim and Long John Silver impressed me. Like, "Yeah, Jim, you tell him!"

I was able to easily borrow the audiobook and take the self-assessment quiz online.

So far, most of the content is covering basic things I already know from reading 'Star Power.' But I do appreciate the different point of view, and this book does goes into more depth. A few of the passages resonate with me, like, "Wow, that's a good line," and "I like how he worded that."

Why, that Long John Silver is a smooth talking scoundrel.

When I read some of the reviews for books by Steven Forrest, I was skeptical. I thought, "Sure, an astrology book can be well written. But how good can a non-fiction reference book ever really be?" Fast forward and I've patrially read of two Steven Forrest books including this one. And I can say: his reputation is deserved, and yes, he does write in a way that is enjoyable and easy to read.

The plot thickens!

Once you've seen the Muppets Treasure Island movie, the book itself pales in comparison! 😄😅 But I'm going to see it through since it's a classic and I bought it. It's not bad at all, just not as fun as a boat full of Muppets.

Not all of the content is helpful to me, but it's worth reading for the parts that are new and helpful. I found the chapter on New Moon wishing delightful.

So far it's a charming, peaceful story. Reminds me of Winnie the Pooh in the pacing and story, which is set in nature with common animals.

What is Magnus hiding???

Present-day Pendergast would have handled this differently.
