My most recent reads have featured me fucking DYING reading about women putting themselves in dangerous situations via trusting a Hot Guy for literally no reason. Or having their inner story vanish to be replaced by Hot Guy. Not here! She has goals in life that she is devoted to! There also still is a very good romance!! Review to come

Oh nooo, this one is boring without the traveling😭 If I had known how case of the week these books would be I think I would have passed on this series. I like the characters so much though! very frustrating!

Came back to this book trying to give it another shot and the main female character went from being tough and smart to dangerously naive and immature because a handsome guy came along. I thought she’d snap out of it but so far nopppeee😅 don’t make me DNF this, the world is so interesting, pls

I just want to go back to the animal rescue and the vet office. A second book with more travel and long terrain descriptions😭

Oh cool, cool, she's now checking out the prince she thinks may try to kill her who is maybe actively leading her into a murder dungeon.

"The prince is in charge of murdering all of the people with the illness she has. She just met him and he knows she had it. He's leading her into a place that looks like a dungeon, where they murder people like her. "'I'll never take you there, Miss Spindle. You have my word.' The descriptions and world building are so vague and bland that I just got this far having no clue it wasn’t taking place in modern times. I just learned it from someone’s review😅 So far definitely not understanding the hype for this one

I’m... DNFing already?? It’s totally feminist when it comes to the romantic relationship, but not in the slightest when it comes to the family relationships and it’s killlllled the book for me😭 That kidney storyline is so abusive to the mc and out of left field, like wtf.

....did this book just 100% insult women in their 20’s, who also happen to make a large portion of the readership of this genre...???? Who also happen to be leading the revolution IRL???

I don’t want this to end😭😭 This one also really ditched a lot mc thought repetition that I felt has been an issue with Marianna Zapata in the past. Now the good thoughts are all there, just the once, so they can flow! Also with the repetition gone, it’s STILL nice and long so it has more scenes in the book than usual. Don’t end😭

This book just pissed me off so much it induced a migraine, lol

Hate how this book is describing the mc’s mom as this kitchen ornament robot wife who “dresses for her husband” and how that is the pinnacle of being a woman/wife. I need this to stop please

6% in and it’s a mess. An adult woman cowering at the barked orders of her childhood bully/current love interest while he makes fun of her to her face.... again, in adulthood. What a beautiful love story GAG

Uh... Not going well so far. Male mc is trying to get his friend to dump his girlfriend bc “bros before hoes”.

Female mc starts her chapter with, no joke, four pages of self-degradation disguised as “haha being a woman, ha ha” about how fat she is going to get because she ate ONE donut. Also other women are hotter/more worthy of having a relationship because she is gross for eating it. Jesus christ..........

It sucks when you find an author who is doing something unique that you love in a book, start reading all of their other books and realize the book you like was 100% an outlier.🙃

This is such a tough one. The hero is simultaneously a source of a lot of feminist sentiment that makes me so happy, but then there is lot of out of left field misogyny from him too. Are two people writing him? Everything is really at odds in how he views women

For some reason, I wanted to be the one to take her broken pieces, and put them back together again.” No one thinks that way STOP

If I could just delete her terrible “friends” from this book, I would probably still be reading it. I just can’t deal with the stuttering virgin trope, and the “friend” who is actually a shallow bully. Also the way they both only function within this story as basically pop up ads for future books.. Frustrating.

Gotta love it when the superficial bully “friend” character is definitely going to get a book in the series and you are forced to read her pop up ad bs for her eventual book in this one, all while trying to figure out if her most recent comment in the book was an embrasure of toxic masculinity, homophobia or both. Also love watching her get victim blamed by the guy who will be her love interest in her book. Gag.

I mean this dude is sweet as hell and reads AND cares about a woman’s body language. I wish I read more sentences like that in my life.
