WAY TOO MANY characters who each have names and nicknames, some with both English and Chinese names. Impossible to keep them all straight especially 1st disc where the story is not established yet

Terrific. Good information. Unlike other books, this book recognizes that the toxic person in the reader’s life may not be a romantic partner. Relationships with toxic family members, friends, business colleagues are important and require management too.

Another error in chart in video. Missing negative signs. However, explanations seem better, more complete than earlier.

I couldn’t figure out the answer to a lecture 5 question. I found the answer on internet provided by the author. We are expected to make a completely illogical assumption and then choose a strategy that we have specifically been told not to use in this part of the course because it’s covered at a later time. On the upside, I am appreciating that this course is in English rather than mathematical notations.

YES!! Dr. Stevens explains the bar scene in A Beautiful Mind is not, I repeat NOT an example of Nash Equilibrium. That scene in the movie has always bothered me because it simply doesn’t make sense as an example of Nash Equilibrium.

Now that I know what the speaker is trying to say, I have gone back and reviewed lectures threethroughfive for content. The examples given are remarkably clear and the visual depiction of them is Unambiguous. If you work through these examples I don’t think there’s anyway you cannot understand the concepts. They are very clear and instructive.

The book itself is fairly useless with just a sky-high overview of each lecture. No meat. Although it is helpful for vocabulary definitions.

The speaker’s manner of delivery is to give a lengthy explanation of something and then say “that’s called XYZ“. Or “there are 2 requirements for a sequential gain: A and B“ followed by a long explanation. Then “oh, and also C and D”. Followed by a long explanation then “and you also need E and F”. It’s difficult to take organized notes because the info is presented in a disorganized order.

I’ve got the book plus DVD version which is not listed on Goodreads. I wouldn’t try to understand this on a CD version. Even on the DVD version, it’s difficult to pick up the concepts easily.

I finally realized what this reminds me of: Sherlock Holmes at Reichenbach falls. The book where Conan Doyle killed off Sherlock Holmes because he was tired of writing about him. But that doesn’t really make sense because Stewart had already essentially quit writing books about these kids. He could have just left it as It was.

The action moves at a snail’s pace.

I can’t believe that after waiting YEARS for an installment to this series, the book is a painful disintegration of the society.

I’m really hoping that the title riddle of the ages does not refer to the fact that we don’t know how old these kids are because that would be really irritating.

This book makes me feel sad and slightly ill. It captures that moment when kids lose their confidence and exuberance and belief in themselves and in life and start doubting themselves. Why on earth would you write a book about that?

I’m still waiting to enjoy this book. It’s very frustrating to read this because it still hasn’t said how old the kids are except that Constance is not a teenager or a tween ager. I think she was six last time so perhaps she’s somewhere between six and 11. And the rest of the kids are odd. They used to have such distinct personalities and now they don’t have any personality at all.

We pick up “years later” than the previous book with no mention of how old the kids are now. It’s very disorienting.

I wouldn’t recommend reading this book without first reading previous books in the series.

Goodreads told me there is no way to prevent progress notes from going out publicly. Sorry.

. . . ready on air as soon as they put the TV cake into the oven. So Sydney would have put The poison into the Coco at the latest early Wednesday. And he would have thrown away the evidence Wednesday night to be removed by the garbage trucks Thursday morning the day after the murder.

But that makes no sense because they know that he didn’t actually do the deed Wednesday evening. He had added the Poison to the Cocoa BEFORE the cake was baked. And the cake that was poisoned was baked BEFORE they started shooting the TV show so that it would be ready on air as soon

This timeline doesn’t make any sense on page 235 she says “the last time this trash was picked up was last Thursday a week ago today. Eleanor died a week ago Wednesday. Sydney dropped the empty bottles in here on Thursday night when he came by for his nightly beer.”
