This timeline doesn’t make any sense on page 235 she says “the last time this trash was picked up was last Thursday a week ago today. Eleanor died a week ago Wednesday. Sydney dropped the empty bottles in here on Thursday night when he came by for his nightly beer.”

I think I’ve known who the murderer was since before the murder. The story is not working out that way at the moment, but we’ll see.
There isn’t much of an investigation here either by the detective or by the police. But at this point in the book they are actually doing some investigation. The story is mostly about family issues rather than the murder.

This book is fun to read, and enjoyable. There’s not a lot to the mystery itself. Everyone’s a suspect, But they aren’t investigating any of them. So far all they’ve done is wait around for test results. And I’m over halfway through the book

This book is a quick read. It’s formatted very well for a cozy mystery, quick pace with short chapters. I’m not in love with any of the characters although I do like them. I think they have been developed well.

A woman eats, she’s the only one in the room that eats, it’s well known that she is the only one who eats at this event ... and then becomes violently ill and dies. Yet it takes 2 chapters for our detective to suspect she’s been poisoned? Has she never read a mystery before?
