I have often been asked to cite my lived experiences under the guise of Western academia because oral stories are not as valuable as peer-reviewed journal articles. We as Indigenous peoples have often been asked to do this because for academia lived experiences and perspectives are not important unless they have been developed into a framework or theory.

it was if he were fainting, the black bits at the sides folding his vision into smaller and smaller origami boxes...It was like when your car spins out on an icy road, and your senses turn up so high that time seems to slow because you notice everything and you just sit in your spinning car waiting, waiting to see if you're going to die. He couldn't look at her because very sense & every atom of his body was in love

We all must pay attention to AI’s potential risks. We cannot leave its development or application to any one constituency, be it researchers, companies, governments, or civil society organizations.

Even cases of COVID-19 are subject to selective attention:people who feel terrible go to the hospital and are tested for the disease; people who feel fine do now.As a result, the disease looks even more dangerous than it really is.Even though statisticians understand this problem well there's no easy way to solve it without systematic testing, elusive in early stage of pandemic when diff policy decisions being made
