this helped me remember what i liked about the writer's first book that i read 'this is ever after'. 'spell bound' got me questioning and this brought me right back.
the way they wrote about how magic flow through their veins is similar to spell bound so i guess they do have a "type".
the political and kingdom politics aspect, while not explored much yet, is intriguing.

the writing style i guess serve a purpose to let us see thru his mind, the double (or multiple) sided-ness of it all. there are points where it's hard for me to tell whether he was speaking to the person opposite him, or just speaking his mind. and as he mentioned, instead of half of, he is double of everything that he is; his self heavily identifies with neither and both at the same time.

the writer is damn good at writing a building relationship they had me clutching my chest with the angst. the last time i felt all this was when i read 'the beautiful ones', also by them.

this far into the book and i'm fascinated by how celebrity things that are still so present now, even those that might stem from 'chronically online' (which by itself is a very *kids these days* term) individuals have always been a thing since the past.

it's also essentially about and revolves around making one's self as a commodity/product that sells, whether you were in control of it or not
