this far into the book and i'm fascinated by how celebrity things that are still so present now, even those that might stem from 'chronically online' (which by itself is a very *kids these days* term) individuals have always been a thing since the past.

it's also essentially about and revolves around making one's self as a commodity/product that sells, whether you were in control of it or not

hestia the style of the writing is so unapologetically british it's so funny to read as a non-british non-english native person.

(and damn what a tedious work i must assume judging by how far and wide the selection of sources and research were)
