I am finding this a real challenge to get through. I don’t like either protagonist from the two time periods. As a side note I am sick of these books that have two related times in a book. I always end up preferring one and not the other. This book is seems too drawn out. . I really feel like closing it for the last time now. Is it at all possible it can become wonderful in another 100 pages?

At chapter 4 of this book and if it hadn’t read so many great reviews I would toss it.
For an historical book the language is awful.

Page 134. So far 134 pages of misery and complaining.
3 women who have lives they are unhappy with. I am not sure if I can and should keep reading.Why do writers create misery and miserable characters at the beginning of a book and continue it for so long!

This was the beginning of a series. I found the book slow and kept reading hoping that I would find something interesting. I didn’t . It was a library book and I decided to say no to reading it.

I loved the start of this book. It created a stifling atmosphere of boredom and stillness.

This is a book club choice. I was looking forward to reading this as it is an older book and has been used for a couple of movies.

I am only up to page 43. Such an unusual book. So far some of the pages have made me cringe and others have had me laughing so hard I cried.
It’s not a particularly pleasant book and the 43 pages have taken me longer to read than most books. The writing is excellent

Just going through books I have on my kindle and have not read

I listened to this book about 2010 and kept falling asleep. I eventually decided to read the book and find out what it was all about.

About half way through the book. I am enjoying it but think all the past childhood times are a bit much, with the recent past and present dialogue and then the limbo bit with Paige. I am hopeful it will untangle soon.

I am enjoying this read. The characters are interesting and fun. The storyline is very good. We start with Pipers early life with her single mother in Conny island and pet monkey. Her life changes when her disinterested absent father sends her to live with his sister.

I am having trouble getting through this book. So far it is So dull. I have read 3 other books while trying to finish this.

I have just started the book. I had trouble finding it on Goodreads as my title is the UK one called you and me on vacation. The first 50 pages are slow, it lacks direction. We will see.

This was an easy read. I liked the characters and felt for the wife with the best friend that had a careless view of friendship and a husband that could easily walk away. Everyone got what they deserved thankfully.

unusual book. I enjoyed it but not exactly sure how to review it. Not a happy book but very interesting.

Not sure how I will enjoy this book, straight away she hates dogs and keeps a caged bird.

An interesting read in many ways. The concept on the surface was so simple but the story and the Characters made it real and special. Two women and one child.

What a disappointment after reading The Dry and . I was looking forward to reading The survivors. Great descriptive language but the characters just did not come alive like her last books. I truly did not enjoy reading this book for that reason. Not one of the characters voices seemed strong and clear. No page turner for me. A few times I almost put it aside but I have enjoyed her other books so much

No Dialogue and a often repeat on happening, nothing written in chronological order. Interesting book but not so easy to follow easy to put down. so far no connection to the characters. But there is something interesting about it.

The writing style is intriguing but some what irritating as I can not get a fix on any of the characters. No dialogue just facts of what has happened and all muddled together. I will keep plodding as it has some excellent reviews biut I loose my interest in the book becasue of the format of the writing.
