Restarted this yet again. It's enjoyable, but why is Fallon so obsessed with who is banging/has banged whom. Also, sudden usage of terms like meet-cute, manbun, and "playfae," ugh, why.

Admittedly struggling with this. I'm so happy for Layla Fae in finally getting to put out a longboi of a book, and I'm stoked to be on the ARC team, but I don't read dark romance. Content-wise, not much icks me out or really "offends" me, but I don't find dubcon, SA threats, MMC basically killing FMC's friend, etc., etc., appealing, so I can't root for them at all.

Currently reading for the thirdddd time.

Been thinking about it a lot lately for whatever reason, and I did only ever read the original trilogy and first couple of novellas, so I want to reread and finish it this time.

I know it's so, so flawed but this is my comfort series.

The introduction to this book is the same as the first (Ice Giant) and the first one that I actually read (Lich). The introduction states that it's been thousands of years--THOUSANDS--since Earth became Alia Terra. So please explain why this narration keeps saying things like, "my parents also had an arranged marriage, when the aliens first took over."

After re-reading The Assassin's Blade (since I never continued the series two years ago), it's finally on to this one.

Really hope Celaena gets better as the series progresses because if she isn't the worst main character I've suffered to read about, she's at least up there.

Vhalla is kind of...really annoying for the first 60ish pages of this book. This is also almost blatantly ripping off ATLA with the "last air magic user" and this empire that seems to be starting shit everywhere.

Some major editing issues with this so far. There are about a billion comma splices on every page that really disrupt the reading flow.

Example: When packs arrived for a gathering, they brought as many able-bodied pack members as possible, but they did not bring every pack member, some could not make the journey, such as mothers with young cubs, and many would also remain to guard their den and defend the territory.

I put this on my TBR before it came out, and I've been looking forward to reading it ever since but just hadn't gotten to it until now. I'm enjoying this so much. <3 I love the trial transcripts, interviews, etc., that are interspersed between the larger chunks of Ana's narration. I love Ana and her way of viewing her limited world, her bond with her sisters, her love for animals. Ahhhh! It's already broken my heart.

I really struggle to want to read this when there's so much Taryn. I hate her so much and I just dread every time she's in a scene.

Started last night because I've been getting Owlcrate boxes for a little over a year now and have yet to read any of the books from the crates. (They all sound great, but I've been focused on other stuff.) Figured I should pick up something "spooky" as we zoom up on Halloween. This is my at-home book for now while I read The Wicked King on the go.

Included with our new middle school curriculum this year. Currently reading with 8th grade students.

50 pages in and every character is unlikeable (except maybe the main character's best friend's brother). I'm trying not to be too judgemental because I'm assuming there's a point to the portrayal here (everyone seems to be low-income), but everyone is so trashy.

Picked up the first two compendiums on Kindle a couple months back because I wanted to at least read some of it before watching the first season of the show. Didn't actually get around to starting it until the other night, though. Looks like the first season will cover the first 13 issues or so, so I'm at least going to read that much before I watch any of it.

At the same time that I understand people not liking to see Cap as a Hydra agent, it's not as if America-devoted Cap is suddenly like, "Y'know what, Hydra's got the right idea!"

Definitely easier to follow than Standoff was, haha. Pretty much everyone here is actually familiar to me. Diggin' the art so far.

About a third of the way through.

An interesting premise, and a loooooot of characters. Many of the villains are new to me.

Re-reading because it's been a year and a half and I never moved on with the series.
