Haha I just realized that the reason this progress bar is still at 0% despite my updating progress is because the book description says this 1022-page book is 0 pages.

I finished part 1 which introduces Gertrude Stein and publication history/early critical reception of The Making of Americans. Part 2 is more essays. I will read part 3 alongside TMOA, as it is a “chapter” by “chapter guide (there are no actual chapters, chapters seem to be supplied by critics).

The first several stories are from the first half of the 20th century and are more interesting to me for what they say about their historical context than they are as stories. Still- interesting.

I’m going to DNF. I just really can’t get into it after 120 pages

I will finish this book! I just do not know when.

I will be doing my reading tracking offline in 2025. I have become TOO ONLINE and writing things down the old fashioned way is fun.

DNF - just not in the mood

There are two virtues that are both called justice, and though one is called partial justice and the other is called whole justice, partial justice does not share a unique relationship with whole justice, but is subsumed under whole justice, as whole justice is a complete virtue, in the same way that liberality, moderation, and courage are. My brains!
