Okay I made it past the halfway point, this is a book for young men, it’s excellent in that regard. As I’m a hag, a depressive and a reader of nature writing, this just feels like mansplaining

I am going to love this! I am in love with the writing already

Given the subject matter, the themes and the writing- I want to loves this. I don’t. The protagonist is hard to spend time with

I feel like my little brother is following me around the house dramatically narrating my every boring move. That’s how this is written.

Not enjoying this at all

I forgot I was reading this. It’s breaking my heart so hard. The rage . The futility. Read a chapter here and there and fall into existential despair…

I get it, but I don’t know how much more time I can spend with the protagonist.

I don’t think I’ll be finishing this solipsistic mansplainy treatise on depression.

Murdoch is a genius writer but I don’t know if I can spend a whole book with the dickhead protagonist.

Go away, I’m reading. Shhh

Excellent, very thorough. A brick…

A bedside book I sort of forgot about, a mixed bag, have to dip back in..

So good, so heartbreaking, so enraging, can only do a bit at a time..

I have to set this aside- I keep rereading the first chapter and getting nowhere..

I have restarted this three times and I’m debating whether or not to go for a fourth..

Another for the reading challenge, fantasy- not my thing. It’s very well done so it’s moving along… won’t make a convert of me though

Holy fuck it’s endless…

Another book for the Library reading challenge I do with my daughter every year, and man this is such a nice surprise so far. Has a bubbling theatricality that I find irresistible.

Yes, this is as good as the first time I read it, but I have to say, that this is much better read than listened to. I am mostly a listener, but this book calls for a moment of reflection and a daydream in between its passages .

Please be as good this time as the first 🤞

5 big fat stars! I started the Lincoln highway in Nebraska and decided to listen to this. I got so worried about the two boys I had to stop. Picking up the Lincoln highway again Pennsylvania I decided to listen again and I’m so glad I did. This was fantastic

Listening to this as I’m chugging along in an old pickup truck feeling guilty for enjoying and engaging in “windshield wilderness “… I don’t want to fly in Trump’s US though..
