Extremely well researched and dense, so it’s my fault for trying to read this book for fun. I made significant progress today but i think everything went in one ear and out the other 😖

I’ve liked some of her other work, but this just feels like academic jargony slop.

Tlostanova seems to be operating under the idea that state socialism = colonialism, which is something i’ve had growing skepticism toward as I learn more about the soviet period (it’s complicated). So… not sure if I’m gonna enjoy this one, esp since I dont think decolonial theory is that relevant to the region 🤫

Please god make it end

Honestly this book is pretty predictable but it reads easy and I don’t dislike it, so I might as well finish it

Very good but very heavy, so progress is slow.
