Dnf. Just really not clicking with this one, enemies to lovers is not my favourite trope and neither character is particularly likeable at the moment so I think I’ll move on.

I liked that it felt like the start of something and not just a one night stand. Love that all her friends ship it. Got a bit more of profiler Maggie which was cool. And Jason’s first single case which I liked, he’s come a long way. Still really loving this series.

This one was all about creeds sister which was a bit sad but cool to finally focus on. I’m not sure about her being alive, she seemed weirdly kind of ok considering she’s been in captivity longer than she hasn’t. I’m assuming that’ll be touched on more later. I didn’t like that Ryder wasn’t the one to find her. Liked that we got a bit about ryders mum too. And Maggie and Ryder finally got together.

Sad that they were split. Keen for them to find Chang and ren again too because they definitely have some explaining to do. Overall I really enjoyed this. Ended up loving jun, thought the fighting, and rebel movement was great. Liked how the breath marked abilities was handled and think that the ending set up a really exciting sequel.

Tophs vision if it were tracking chi rather than vibrations which was cool. The ending was wild with the scroll stolen and Jun pinned as the scapegoat. The general is so evil! They genuinely also cared for him. I’m sure I missed some of the nods to Bruce Lee but I thought the fighting was really cool. I thought the tournament seemed a little too easy for Jun at times but I feel like there would also be an element of luck to the match ups of opponents in a tournament that size that made it believable for him to advance so far. Heart is in the right place and genuinely wants to help make things better. The cast of characters were cool and I’d love to see more of them. Again his schoolmate grew on me and I’d love to see their friendship grow. I wasn’t too sure about this one at first but it sucked me in and the ending was intense. I thought at first that Jim was too arrogant, and he kinda was but that was the point. A bit more insight into the characters thoughts than you usually would but still. Really loved seeing a bit more into Dazai and Oda’s friendship. Oda was really cool, more badass than I remembered. Some tricky double agents and double crosses too. The mafia boss beats Dazai at 4D chess in this one and I feel like Dazai decides that that’s never happening again. Despite it being a short book this was such a slog for me to get through, just found it really hard to get traction. But I made it because I can’t afford late fees haha. This was good but I feel like we saw most of this in the show. I thought these stories would be little in between stories that fit alongside canon but they are mostly just canon in novel form rather than manga. Which is still cool because you get

The ending felt hopeful for him. Not a whole heap of Maggie in this one, but I feel like she’s definitely moving off from Ben after he broke her trust which is great because then she can be with Ryder! Still really loving this series, really loving the characters, and really enjoying learning all about working dogs too. Keen for more.

Creed was great still and I loved him using his smarts to make a deal with the government people to save all the dogs to get his help. He’s just a great guy who loves his dogs. Really liked seeing some more of Jason in this one, his friendship with Creed could be really great. Cool to see him doing some more handler stuff too at the end. Pretty sad about his friend dying though and him being a bit suicidal, but

This one was rough to read. I still love the characters, they’re great, but the case followed on from the 2nd one about the stolen virus vials and it’s still too soon. Definitely had some covid ptsd. When the infected people started hopping on planes I was like oh you’re so fucked. Definitely skimmed a little because it just stressed me out how fast this would realistically be spreading.
