loved about the first one was the bond and interactions between red and talin there was hardly any of that in this one, they were apart for so long. And then were just like boom I love you and I’m like do you though? I get that she was stuck between and rock and a hard place but at some point you’ve got to work out a third option surely , except apparently not you can just mope and moan for 400 pages while everyone else gets shit done and still somehow be the hero. Honestly the only wins for book were the dream team that is red and jaren, the other strikers still being badass, adena taking the shot at the tyrant in the arena

For the entire book! She’s just kept boo hooing about her mum being captured. Im sorry but there comes a point where I think her mum would say fuck it and let her go in order to actually make a move and think that point was somewhere between humming and harring about whether you’ll need to kill your best friend and actually murdering three innocents exercusioner style. And she fucking crossed it!

I’m so unbelievably sad at how shit this was. I was so keen and it was just such a let down. Right off the bat I hated the 6 month time jump, I understood it gave her time to become a Skyhunter and for red to actually learn their language but it was just too long. Also I feel like her going through everything red did just really cheapened his back story. And her becoming the biggest baddest strongest Skyhunter to

leaning to be more like the other. All the side characters felt very fleshed out and real too which was cool. This was just a really good read, unique world building, excellent characters, adventure, friendship, humour and angst. Lots of twists and turns too. What’s not to love. I feel like it had a really good ending too, everyone’s stories were wrapped up very well.

In the way that all the different critters and creatures had their own set of rules on how you must interact and talk with them.
