I have not come across the chinese names Fuermosha (from formosa) or Meilidao (beautiful island) when talking about taiwan.

She should have pointed the reader to smaller streets in Taipei as she does with Jiufen but she did not.

If she had done it like this here, talking about the local tea farms and then simply suggested a local restaurant, fine, but not the way she did it before.

That Zhinan temple info and its lecherous temple is funny at least.

the cable cars are not unknown either. Sometimes she has stuff that isn't widely known but other times...

So for the bali area she mentions an aboriginal museum but not for Taipei.

Well, mentioning the big ice-cream at Tamsui makes at least more sense than the many many examples of cafes before.

It is really bad that she lists stuff like this "Taipei coney island" so late in the book. And this book is also quite american centric. several references will not be understandable for others.

now she mentions several spings in Beitou. She rarely does that.

the gardens near the National Palace museum... but why not mention the aboriginal museum?

Well, her mentioning these two waterfalls are finally something suitable for travellers. The rest of the book is pretty much a waste of time in this regard.

Elephant mountain? That is a common tourist destination, why not suggest another mountain?

This must be the first time that any park was mentioned/featured here. It is food and cafes all the time.

7-11 tea eggs are fine. I would have mentioned that they taste only slightly different from regular boiled eggs.
