Love how unknowable and mysterious the Count is. You worry that with how much vampire fiction there is the suspense of it all would become lost over the decades. But no, I'm as intrigued in the Count as I was in Remmick in Sinners (2025)

Love the concept of Johnathan collecting recipes across Europe for Mina.

Somehow Stephen King wrote a book made explicitly and specifically to fit my tastes 22 years before i was born.

This is the first King I've read where the protagonist isn't, in some way, a writer. Trisha is already making for a great read and I've got to say I'm already a little worried for the poor girl.

One of the best twists I've ever read. made all the better by it not being a plot twist but a twist in the internal psychology of the book. Really brilliant stuff, tho the foot scene is one of the most gross things I've ever read.

The idea of a writer having to figure out how to resurrect a character they had never intended to bring back is intriguing. The added tension that if he doesn't do it in a way that feels 'fair' his new Editor will murder him on the spot is what elevates it to brilliant.

Gripping is I think the only apt word for this one.

It's a testament to Kathy Bates performance that I simply can't not picture her in this.

I wish Alex Ross drew every comic sometimes, but that'd mean we'd only get two a year.
