I don’t like how they’re hinting at a romance happening between Lindsey and Ryan. It just seems weird and slightly unethical when he’s a reporter doing a story on her sister

Aw I like that it’s more than just a romance. It’s shifted to a story about finding your place and not running from the past

I love the friendship between Alex and Poppy. I don’t see much romantic chemistry (yet)

This is exactly what I need after Tender is the Flesh. Something that is easy, upbeat, won't make me sick to my stomach, and won't kill a good mood

This novel just gets darker and darker. Also seems like those multiple pages about how they prepare people for food was just to gross out the reader. Awesome.

Multiple and very detailed pages on how they kill and turn the humans into meat. Just why? Why was that necessary? To showcase that some weirdos like violence and will be violent when given the chance? All the bodies described were female too. It just felt unnecessary

Everything about this is so gruesome but explained so plainly like it’s nothing (which in their world it is) but man it’s disturbing

Let’s see if I can handle this book bc it’s a lot so far. It’s written in a very matter of fact and detached way (ex not from book “A traveled along the dirt road until he reached the factory. He didn’t like his job much”).

It feels just so cold and adds to the dread of everything. I don’t know if this is just the translation or if it’s the writers style. Definitely adds to the mood

Yikes. This turned into a horror novel so quick.

It’s like a much darker love island. I love it.

Of course the narrator is ranked second hottest by the guys while the guys who have shown
Interest in her are ranked third and first. Of course. It’d be more interesting if they were all ranked lower or more spread out.

I do like how it’s pointed out who the girls think are most attractive among themselves is different than who the guys picked. I’m super interested in the world building. Wish there was more

I’ve grown to like this more as I keep on reading. The first half is kind of slow, it felt like it took too long to get to the action for me. Once the action kicked off, it really kicked off.

All of the characters are in danger and any of them can get taken out. Love that a lot. It keeping me on the edge of my seat now

Why is three two paragraphs (one is very small, only a few sentences) about putting paper in a printer? So bland and underwhelming

Everything is just so bland so far. The characters, the few scares, their overnight stay in a haunted house…all so bland and uneventful.

I think I finally figured out why it feels like it’s taking me a while to get into this book, all the characters feel like cliches and not fleshed out enough yet.
