This novel just gets darker and darker. Also seems like those multiple pages about how they prepare people for food was just to gross out the reader. Awesome.

Everything about this is so gruesome but explained so plainly like it’s nothing (which in their world it is) but man it’s disturbing

Let’s see if I can handle this book bc it’s a lot so far. It’s written in a very matter of fact and detached way (ex not from book “A traveled along the dirt road until he reached the factory. He didn’t like his job much”).

It feels just so cold and adds to the dread of everything. I don’t know if this is just the translation or if it’s the writers style. Definitely adds to the mood
